0/200Mango ice cream is India's love letter to its national fruit. India is the world's largest producer of mangoes, growing over 1,000 varieties, and the fruit has been cultivated on the subcontinent for over 4,000 years — referenced in ancient Sanskrit literature and revered as the "king of fruits." Indian-style mango ice cream differs from Western versions: it is typically made with *alphonso* or *kesar* mango pulp — varieties prized for their intense, saffron-hued sweetness and lack of fibrousness — blended into a rich cream base that is denser and more aromatic than standard ice cream. It is the most-requested ice cream flavor in Indian restaurants worldwide. At Raunak, we use premium mango pulp blended into a creamy, churned ice cream base for a smooth, intensely fruity scoop. Served chilled.
Mangoes are a nutritional powerhouse — rich in vitamin C (immune support), vitamin A (eye health), folate, and dietary fiber. They also contain mangiferin, a unique antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties. The cream base provides calcium and protein. Because the sweetness comes substantially from the natural fruit sugars, mango ice cream is a more nutrient-dense frozen treat than most flavored Western ice creams.
