Deep fried Potato Patties stuffed with Lentils
Let our chefs know how you'd like your dish prepared
0/200Aloo Tikki is the foundational building block of North Indian street food — a golden, crisp potato patty with a hidden spiced-lentil core. In the bylanes of Old Delhi, *tikkiwallahs* have been frying these patties on massive cast-iron griddles for generations, the sizzle and aroma drawing crowds from blocks away. Unlike the chaat version (which is loaded with toppings), this street-food version is served as-is — two patties, crisp and unadorned, ready to be dipped in mint or tamarind chutney. At Raunak, our aloo tikki is stuffed with spiced lentil filling — a technique from Lucknow that adds a layer of protein and a nutty, savory surprise inside the potato shell.
Potatoes provide potassium and vitamin C; the lentil stuffing adds plant protein and dietary fiber. Pan-fried in minimal oil, these patties are a lighter alternative to heavier fried snacks.
